"He died for us". Sometimes hearing this phrase over and over again loses it's punch on us, but not its power. Today, the Sunday of the Lord's Passion, or as we have grown up knowing it, Palm Sunday, let us hear this phrase anew - as if we are hearing it for the first time.
The story of the passion and death of Jesus that we hear every year during the Passion is a story of love - God's love for us. How should we respond to this unimaginable love? Gratitude! Yes, this is what God is expecting from us today and every single day of our life - that we live in constant praise and thanksgiving for his generous mercy.
This sense of gratitude should be so strong as to hate sin and make us translate our love of God to loving all God's people. So get up, pick up your palm branch and march to the gates of Jerusalem and welcome Jesus - the Love of God incarnate.
