Lent is an invitation for us to draw even closer to the mystery of our faith. It is a time for walking steadfastly on the roads that our Lord took - a road that not too many of us in these modern days would desire to even place our feet. The way of the cross is the way Jesus took towards the glory of His resurrection.
On this first Sunday of Lent, the Lord is taking us by our hands to journey with Him to Calvary, to witness the bright light of His rising from the dead, which dispels the darkness that lingers on the earth. We started our Lenten journey by placing ashes on our foreheads.
May we find our hearts open to the movements of the Spirit in this season of awakening, renewing, and rising. For from ash we came forth, and to ash we shall rest.
