The Sundays after the resurrection are very interesting in the liturgical cycle of the Church. Solemn feasts are celebrated one after another, which lead to the Ordinary Sundays. 

Today's solemnity is probably one of the most important celebrations in the life of the Church, because the Body of Christ is the living bread that gives life - the Eucharist being the vehicle for which the Church is nourished and sanctified. 

The Feast of the Body of Christ refers to both the Body of Christ as well as to all those brought together in Christ Jesus. When we gather each time to celebrate the Eucharist, we not only proclaim Christ's suffering, death and resurrection, but also our own suffering, death and resurrection in the name of Christ. 

The challenge for us today is to live up to that vocation of being the Body of Christ in the world. Are we caring for life? Do we bear the truth? Are we becoming the way for others to know Christ? Are we beacons of light? Ultimately, can we say that the world sees us Christians as the visible image of the love of God?

All these are what the Body of Christ is in the world. Let us pray for our community that we may embody our mission around us. We are the Body of Christ - blessed, broken and shared so that other may experience the mercy and compassion of God. 

At the very heart of our Christian belief is our profession of faith in the Holy Trinity - the community of Father, Son and Spirit. This is the core, the foundation, the center of our creed. We believe it, we profess it, we proclaim it, we live it. The Father is wholly united with the Son and the Son is completely one with the Father in their bond of love, which animates their oneness in the person of the Holy Spirit.The Three become one, a mystery in our faith that has been profoundly reflected since the foundation of Christianity. 
 
It is to this unity that our communities of Saint Mark, Saint Mary and Holy Trinity are called. It is Trinitarian, a unity that is inseparable. Let us humbly reflect on this theme of unity this Sunday, on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. Like Mary, who was chosen and called to share in the intimacy of the Trinitarian unity, may we also open up to the grace of God so that like her we may become a vessel worthy of the divine life we received in baptism. 
 
The Father has willed that we become His children, the Son has willed that we give birth to Him in our daily life, the Spirit willed that we become His partners in bringing forth the love and compassion of God in the world around us. Let us pray that we may live in the Trinity faithfully until eternity.

The 50th day after the resurrection of Jesus. The descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles. The birth of the Church. Today, the Church in the whole world rejoices in the event that opened the flood gates of heaven’s grace to the first community of Christ’s disciples.
 
Pentecost is the empowering of Christ’s disciples to go out and spread the good news.

The Holy Spirit is the breath of God living in each one of us. It is the Holy Spirit who makes known to us the love of God that is present in each person in the world. The Holy Spirit is our advocate, our strength, our energy.
 
As we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, let us cling to his power. May we welcome the movement of God’s Spirit into our lives and listen to his voice within.
 
Come, Holy Ghost, send down those beams, which sweetly flow in silent streams from thy bright throne above.
