All of our desires, our efforts, our works of building a community of love will go to waste if we are far from the very source and center of our desire - Jesus Christ. For the past two Sundays, we have reflected together our desire to build a “community of love.” As the bible says, “we are the body - many different parts of the same one body." Christ is the Head of that body. And therefore, removed from the Head, the body is nothing.
Christ is our Peace. We’ve heard the saying that “Peace is not the absence of noise” but the lack of tolerance and patience from it. We live in a world where peace becomes the opposite of war. We live in a city where progress disturbs silence in the communities. We live in a home where technology over runs human connection and we hardly listen to each other. We live in a time of materialism and advancement in science where we don't stop but just keep going. We live in an age of communication super highways where connecting is no longer personal but by text messages, emails, chats, social media. Progress is important only when it doesn't compromise peace. But what is peace and how can we obtain it?
Christ teaches us the way to peace - PRAYER. Our relationship with God is the source of our inner peace that will radiate and exudes from us. This inner peace that comes from being constantly connected with God in prayer can change homes, communities, society and the world. Christ's peace abounds. It is all around us. It is within us.
