Imagine if Jesus were to come to us today, stand in our midst and talk to us. Imagine if he were to come and heal everyone of us who is sick. Imagine if he were to come today and ease our pain. We hope for the day that Jesus promised when he said he would come again.
Advent is a season of hope. This is a season of rekindling the hope that is in our hearts, which at often times flickers in the dark of night. Advent is a time of looking forward to the promise of Jesus' return in glory. It is also the season of celebrating His first coming as a baby boy, wrapped in swaddling clothes, born of a virgin.
Today, as we begin this season of Advent, let us fix our gaze upon Jesus, the meek, the humble, the lowly child born in a manager.
