The desire for greatness starts with us as little kids. We love to compete and we grow with such a disposition. As followers of Christ, we are given guidelines to follow - humility, kindness, purity of heart - are just a few of them. It is okay to be ambitious, only if it is directed towards goodness according to the eternal values of the kingdom of God.
This 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time, let us direct our attention to the ways of our Lord Jesus Christ. The gospel values of justice, peace, equality of all creation, charity and respect must be upheld if we want to be great in the kingdom of God.
